If you want an affordable and really fresh way to perk up your décor in a way that is completely in line with your own style, consider clocks. Shopping online has allowed us to access some of the best products available in the marketplace; and logistically speaking it is not at all necessary that we be close enough to drive to an actual physical location. Through clock suppliers, consumers can find all the makes, models, and styles that best suit them and that speak to them on a deeper level than just picking them up in a random store.
Through online clock suppliers, expect to find:
* Wall clocks. From round faced wall clocks to pendulum style clocks, wall clocks are a great way to add some flair to your space. Traditional pendulum style clocks round out a classic style home and some of the really fun and funky round faced wall clocks really lend some pizzazz to a bolder, more contemporary style.
* Mantel clocks, Sure, they look great on a mantelpiece; but mantel clocks are small and portable enough to work in just about any room in the home and in any situation. Try mantel clocks on decorative tables, on shelves in place of bookends, and in the nooks and crannies in your home that you want to fill with something special.
* Grandfather and grandmother clocks. These grand pieces are the quintessential clock and they look amazing just about anywhere. But don’t think that you have to go classic in order to get a grandfather clock; high-end online clock suppliers are showing a bevy of modern, fun styles of grandfather clocks.

When it comes to decorating our homes, no one wants to be considered to have created “average” home décor. Anyone can go to the nearest home goods retail outlet and purchase all the things that are trendy at the moment; but what does this say about our own personal style? Not much.
Rather, in order for a home’s décor to be truly something special, it must be infused with that quality that can only be attributed to the homeowner’s personality and own sense of style. By incorporating this style into the home décor palette, homeowners are able to achieve what they never could with a rudimentary trip to a store that provides the goods but doesn’t know a thing about you.
In order to be extraordinary – in home design or anything else – you need to think along extraordinary lines. Stop looking among the mass produced accessories and furniture to find your style and define it for yourself. There are plenty of really wonderful pieces that can be found everywhere from antique stores to estate sales; even a bookshelf found on the corner and destined for the trash can be easily transformed into a treasure.
One of the more versatile accessories that will fit anywhere in a home are clocks. They all perform much the same function; but they go about it in their own style. Clocks can be traditional or they can be funky. Clocks can be country or they can be uptown. No matter what message you want to send with clocks – you have the opportunity by shopping online with some of the best suppliers in the industry.
In the next post, we’ll talk more about how clocks of all kinds can change the feel of a home.

Did you ever look around a home – a space that was decorated beautifully and utilized all the latest and greatest designs and styles – and still think that there was something missing. More times than not, the sense that something is missing is something that you can’t quite identify – on which you can’t put your finger but a void that leaves the entirety of the décor lacking in some capacity.
In very many cases the missing ingredient is the homeowner’s personality. They may be following the letter of the law with regard to home design – infusing their space with all the most up to date trends – but they are doing so at the cost of their own personal style. When a home has been decorated according to what someone else thinks is popular rather than according to the homeowner’s own sense of style, the heart of the home goes missing; and along with it the warmth and vitality that home décor needs in order to truly sparkle.
Too often we put what we know to be important to us in terms of style to the wayside in favor of something that may be trendy or popular in the world of home décor. And ultimately what this choice winds up doing is backfiring on us in terms of creating a space that is our own. Clocks, for example, may be something that were once used for both functionality and home décor; but today as most people simply turn to their cell phones and computers for the time, the need for a clock in the home is not necessary. Unfortunately, many people have subsequently given up on clocks in terms of home décor as well; a decision that often leaves a void in home decorating.
Utilizing clocks through the home for functional pieces, as well as decorative elements, is a great way to infuse home décor with style and personality. Don’t give up on the clock; especially today when there are so many wonderful designs and styles from which to choose.

I am in love with a boat. Seriously. All my life I have wanted to set sail; but being from the city there was not too much opportunity to do that. Instead, I developed a penchant for cruising, until my later years when – after retirement – I finally broke down and bought that sailboat I had always wanted. Here I was, the city boy, learning to sail and just really loving it. I found a marina where I docked the boat and I sail every chance I get. And during the summers, my wife and I basically live on the boat through the season so we’ve really made it into a second home in terms of décor and comfort.
In fact, decorating the boat was my favorite part. We spent a lot of time finding boat friendly accessories that would hold up to the elements and still give the boat the homey feeling we wanted. One of my favorite finds was a nautical wall clock that I found on this great online supplier (believe me, when you’re sitting in the marina day after day, you spend a lot of time on the Internet).
This site had so many types of clocks from which to choose that I found myself in the wonderful position of having almost too many choices on my hands. We knew we wanted a wall clock so that it could be secured safely to the wall of the interior cabin, and we knew we wanted something nautical themed. But I don’t think we realized how many options were available to us – and how high-quality they were. We found a sophisticated, yet fun nautical wall clock that looks perfect on our boat; and now we’re setting sail in style!

When we first purchased this home a large part of the appeal was the home’s huge basement. It was unfinished but my husband and I had grand ideas about finishing this room and making a fun playroom/rec room with a wall to wall bar. Of course, life got in the way of those plans and just prior to being in the house ten years we finally began work on the basement. The final result was beyond what either of us could have ever imagined. The bar really is amazing – wall to wall deep mahogany wood, a flat screen television mounted in the corner of the room, and even beer on tap!
Decorating this room became something really fun for us to do. We went from shop to shop and also did quite a bit of online shopping to find everything from the bar stools to the glasses. We were able to find some really fun pieces and have created a getaway right in our own house.
The piece that really topped everything off, however, was a clock I found for my husband. I found it online through this amazing clock supplier; their selection was unbelievable and I was thrilled to see that they had so many unique pieces from which to choose.
We had discussed having a clock above the bar but hadn’t found anything we both liked. But through this site I found an amazing wall clock engraved with the brand of my husband’s favorite beer. This was way beyond some cheesy bar clock; it was an absolutely beautiful piece with deep, rich wood, intricate lettering and numbers, and an authenticity that made you feel as though you were stepping into a pub.
Needless to say, my husband loved it. And he really loved the website when I showed him where I found the clock. Now maybe I’ll get that grandfather clock I’ve had my eye on!

There is a misconception out there that clocks belong in the homes of those that have leanings towards the conservative and the traditional. When most of us think of a grandfather clock or a hanging wall clock we think of them ensconced among high end design, rich tapestries, and grand décor. This was the image I always had in my head, anyway, and so when it came to decorating my home, I didn’t think to look for any clocks to round out my design plans.
I have what you would call an eclectic design style. I like great pieces and it matters not to me if they do or do not match. In fact, my favorite thing to do in terms of décor is to pull a variety of really great pieces together in a way that brings balance to a room. I like fun and flashy colors – no neutrals for me – and unusual fabrics and materials. The more nooks and crannies a piece has the more I am inclined to like it and bring it home with me.
I found this really great shelving unit at a garage sale and I stripped it down and repainted it; now it just looks amazing in between my two front windows. Then the fun became finding those things that would look spectacular highlighted on the shelf. And that’s when I found my mantel clock.
I love the sound of ticking clocks. There’s something really soothing about it. So when I went into my friend’s house a few weeks ago, I was immediately drawn to the tick-tock of a wall clock she had hung in her family room. But – wait – this was not the traditional wood wall clock that I would expect in such a room; it was this completely fun wall clock in distressed wood with big funky numbers. I immediately asked where my friend had purchased such a gem and she pointed me to an online supplier where I found the best selection of clocks. Some traditional but also many contemporary and fun designs.
Which is where I found the mantel clock that now graces my shelf – affordable, functional, and just my style!

I recently moved into my own place; something that you would most certainly not refer to as palatial, but all mine nonetheless. I am finally an independent person, living on my own, working at a great job, and out from any restrictions imposed by my parents (which also means, of course, that I’m giving up those meals and a super convenient laundry situation, but, hey, it’s a trade off). Of course, the first thing that I wanted to do once I moved in here was to make this place my own – decorate it so that it showcased my personality – but do it in a way that was affordable as money was tight.
I set about painting the walls which was easy enough and very affordable. And then I went to work seeking out those items that would work within the space that I had and strike the ultimate balance – reflecting my personality and accomplishing it within my budget.
After finding great pieces of furniture in a number of discount stores (and even thrift stores – great places if you know where to look), I started to arrange things in my new home. Everything was coming together but it soon became more than obvious that the wall space was going to be a bit of a problem. I had painted the walls really fun colors but that didn’t make up for the fact that I had absolutely nothing hung on them. I had taken a look at some artwork but found that much of it was way too expensive so I opted to frame and hang some photographs that I had taken; but still something was missing.
That’s when I found this really great website that specializes in all things clocks. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it before; I guess I just immediately thought of boring and traditional when I thought of clocks, but this site changed that tune almost immediately. It turns out there are amazingly beautiful clocks, made by top manufacturers in designs and styles that are anything but ordinary or traditional. I wound up finding an amazing wall clock – in just my style – that fit perfectly on my wall and was in my budget. Now, my home has come together in terms of style and the wall clock was the icing on the cake.

Those things that we choose to decorate or fill our house with are those things that we think will fit well with our current vision and the style of our home. But, of course, the very best items are those that will travel well and seamlessly integrate into whatever environment you place them. Clocks, for instance, have a way of encapsulating the personality of whatever room in which they reside; they are versatile pieces of décor that can look great in this home – as well as the next.
While you certainly shouldn’t shop for home accessories with future homes specifically in mind, you can’t be harmed by approaching any decision you make with an eye towards the bigger picture. Put simply, the classics always survive and can always be reinvented no matter where they are placed; clocks of all varieties can be used in all manner of ways no matter what home you happen to be in at the time.
Consider the following when shopping for classic clocks:
• A wall clock in your present home may look perfect in your hallway but may best be used as a piece of artwork in a family room or living room in your next home.
• Mantel clocks are the perfect versatile home accessory. They are small and portable and can be used in any area of the home. While your favorite mantel clock may look great on a library shelf in your current home, it may look spectacular on your new fireplace mantel.
• Grandfather clocks – while larger – are still quite versatile and can look great in nearly every capacity in your home. Use your grandfather clock in a study in your current home and then look how well it makes the transition to a living room in the new home.

Renovating a home – in any capacity – is no small undertaking. It requires as much creativity and patience as it does money and even the strongest among us often have a difficult time getting through the process unscathed and in one piece. Whether you are tackling a specific room in the home, or the house in its entirety, the key to successful renovation (both mentally and physically) is the tackling of the project one step at a time with an eye on the details as well as the bigger picture.
When the project is complete and you sit facing a room – or rooms – that looks completely different than when you first began, you will undoubtedly discover that the décor that you had originally chosen for the room (pre-renovation) no longer works and must be reassessed. This is the nickel and diming of a renovation job; after all, someone who has taken the time and the money to complete such an enormous project can’t – in most cases – simply move their old couch or artwork in and call it a day.
Rather, most homeowners will start the process of redefining the space and choosing furniture, fabric, paint, and décor to match. One of the ways to brighten a space – and put a stamp on the chosen décor – is with a well-chosen clock. There are a variety of amazing clocks on the market – now more accessible than ever with the help of the Internet and the high quality suppliers that provide extensive product lines at affordable prices.
This means, that with just a click of your computer mouse, and a reasonable amount of money you can have everything from a mantel clock to a wall clock delivered to your door and ready to display in your newly renovated room.

In the last post we talked about how all of us at one time or another have been struck by the monotony of our home design – especially if we have lived in the home for an extended period of time; and how every so often it becomes necessary to make some changes to update and liven up the rooms in a home.
As also previously discussed it is not necessary to break the bank in order to transform a home. Often just the changing of a color on the walls or the substitution of one accessory for another can make all the difference in the world. To that end, we talked about how smaller accessories – those that are inexpensive but carry a significant decorative punch – can give a room new life and enliven décor that had been seeming out of date and stale. In this role as transformative accessories, clocks have long been able to add a touch of uniqueness to a room without breaking a budget.
Some of the ways in which we can add clocks to a room and help further a design goal without going financially overboard, include:
* Using a mantel clock in a variety of creative ways. Forget the mantel. Try a mantel clock on a desk, a table, even a countertop and see how easy it is to add a touch of sophistication or whimsy to a room.
* Perch an atomic clock in areas of the room that are lacking color or design depth. There are a variety of atomic clocks on the market that are fun and fresh or classic and traditional.
* Wall clocks are great no matter what room you hang them. Don’t be led to believe that wall clocks have to be traditional pieces that hang in a living room; they come in a variety of styles (as many modern as traditional) and are at home no matter where you put them.
