Grandfather Clocks for Home

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Interior decorators and interior designers frequently look to clocks of all kinds, including wall clocks, mantel clocks and grandfather clocks as a way to add touches of color, home decor and a certain ambiance to a living room or bedroom in a home, whether the home is contemporary or classic.  One interesting note is that for new home construction, including in high-end residential multiple family structures, both for sales and rentals, we have had some major home builders purchase grandfather clocks to place in their model homes.  Guess what?  Apparently, many of the home buyer and house buyers will frequently key in on the grandfather clock and ask if they will get that exact clock if they were to purchase a home.  We have received a bunch of grandfather clock orders over the years because of this.  It is also good that the home builders in these cases went with a new vs antique grandfather clock because it would be difficult if not near-impossible to replicate antique grandfather clocks that are genuine antiques.  It would take locating exactly the same model and make, which is not an easy task.

Grandfather clocks in businesses and other organizations such as Universities, Hospitals, Museums, Government Agencies, pretty much you name it, seem to have a need and desire for one or many grandfather clocks to place on their property.  Planned communities and residential communities and homes targeting older populations also find a special need or desire for grandfather clocks. Purchasing agents are especially fond of working with us.

It is fascinating to us the extent to which more and more of the population and our customer base consider our website to be an enormous grandfather clock showroom, and appreciate the much greater product selection, from mantle clocks to wall clocks to grandfather clocks, than any single store, including our own, could ever offer to the public.

We have thought many times of devoting a website to which people could post pictures and videos of their favorite clocks.  We have even considered standalone websites for each of the major clock makers that we carry, such as one for Howard Miller Clocks, one for Museum Clocks™, another for Ridgeway Clocks, Hermle Floor Clocks and Kieninger clocks.  We would absolutely categorize it by type of clock, such was wall clocks, grandmother clocks, grandfather wall clocks, mantel clocks, atomic clocks, novelty clocks, wristwatches, radio controlled clocks, miniature clocks, custom clocks, neon clocks, skeleton clocks, grandfather clocks and automata, including what we refer to as wonder timepieces including congreve clocks and inclined plane clocks, just to name a couple.

Is there a lesson we have learned that we can share?  Absolutely.  Our opinion is that an investment in a grandfather clock, even or perhaps especially if you are thinking of selling your home or large apartment, will lead to a sale price that significantly exceeds the cost of a grandfather clock.

Did you also know that other terms synonymous with grandfather clocks include floor clocks, hall clocks, grandmother clocks (which are simply shorter versions of the same animal), tall case clocks and longcase clocks.

We invite you to pick up a copy of Architectural Digest, or House & Garden or even Vogue, thumb through the pages, particular when there is a room makeover or home makeover featured story.  It is quite likely that you will see a grandfather clock or wall or mantel clock in the “after” picture.  We have even been asked to and agreed to supply Vogue Magazine with a particular grandfather clock that they could and would and did use for just that very purpose.

Keep in mind that when you purchase a grandfather clock from 1-800-4CLOCKS.com, you get Free Shipping to the Continental USA and Canada, free in-home set-up by a certified technician (yes, anywhere in the USA!), and we charge no sales tax outside of New York State.  Additionally, we always work with our customers to offer the best possible price, because everyone loves grandfather clocks on sale and discount grandfather clocks, and we even spell out our low price guarantee on our website.

Here are some of our current bestsellers. Note that the Howard Miller Clayton Grandfather Clock and the Howard Miller Sewart Grandfather Clock each offer a particularly unique feature, which is a very high quality German mechanical movement which not only has the more customary Westminster Chime, but also has the Beethoven Ave Maria and Schubert Ode to Joy chime options.  These chimes are on a number of wall clocks and mantel clocks, but it is especially rare to see them on a mechanical chiming clock, which affords a much higher chiming sound quality.

Grandfather Clock Blog

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

At ClocksBlog.com, we aim to bring you information about all types of clocks, from new and antique tower clocks to street clocks, to floor clocks and grandmother and grandfather clocks, to mantel clocks of all types, including antique mantle clocks, to wall clocks and regulators, including weight driven clocks and keywound chime wall and mantel clocks.  We also focus on oversized wall clocks, also known as Gallery Clocks, and atomic wall clocks and radio controlled mantel mantel clocks.

We also aim to give advice on a wide range of subjects, including everything from grandfather clock maintenance, to the care and feeding of wall clocks and mantel clocks, and floor clock choices.  The choice of brands, such as whether to purchase a Howard Miller Clock or a Hermle Clock or a Ridgeway Clock or a Rhythm Clock.  There is also the choice of whether to purchase a new or antique grandfather clock, or an antique or new wall clock and mantel clock.  The same types of questions arise about whether  to choose a used or new grandfather clock.

We have dedicated a resource online specifically to help shoppers of new and antique grandfather clocks.  Our grandfather clock blog can be found at, surprise, www.granfatherclocksblog.com.  Other resources there include advice on how to move a grandfather clock, grandfather clock maintenance advice, comparison shopping, how to find grandfather clocks on sale, and grandfather clock discounts.

We also go into the history of grandfather clocks, and grandfather clock chimes and their origins and history, as well as the newest clock chime additions.  We also compare grandfather clock styles, such as contemporary grandfather clocks and traditional grandfather clocks, and well as the styles of grandfather clocks, including swans neck or split pediment grandfather clocks compared to bonnet top grandfather clocks to square top floor clocks and grandmother clocks.

Different styles such as art deco design grandfather clocks and art noveau floor clocks, compared to victorian or more classic or traditional grandfather clocks choices are also explored.

We also explore customizing clocks of all kinds, including custom grandfather clocks, whether a university grandfather clock, or a single mickey mouse grandfather clock meant for the personal use of a special gift recipient.  Engraved grandfather clock pendulums, with logos or emblems, or custom logo floor clocks which can be given as retirement gifts or awards or promotional products.  Corporate award gifts are another common use for grandfather clocks.

Now perhaps one of the greatest treats of all is giving the perfect wedding gift of a grandfather clock to the bridge and groom who just got married and are starting a new household, or for the most special wedding anniversary present, or as an amazing thank you present from an adult child or siblings to their parent or parents as an ultra-special thank you present.

Clocks of all kinds can enhance the living experience of individuals, and on our main website and on our clocks blogs, including the grandfather clock blog, we aim to try to make clocks of all types that much more meaningful part of ones life.

What your clock collection says about you

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

We at 1-800-4CLOCKS.com have many serious clock collectors as customers.  The most serious collectors of clocks tend to be grandfather clock collectors, but we also have many serious wall clocks and mantel clocks collectors as well.  Many have themed clock collections, such as those from the Black Forest of Germany, or say, miniature grandfather clocks or trinket clocks like those of street clocks or tower clocks or, say, bicycle clocks.  The clock possibilities and the themes behind them just go on and on.

But what if a serious collector has, say, 10 grandfather clocks in his or her home.  Does that make this person a hoarder, a psychological term that seems to be thrown around rather loosely these days by people many of whom have few if any credentials in the area.  What if each clock represents a different time and place in clock making history.  Since the dawn of grandfather clocks in about 1650, and with distinct styles first in Western Europe, most specifically in Great Britain, Germany, France, Sweden and the Netherlands, and Eastern Europe, perhaps most notably linked with Viennese grandfather clocks, many exports specifically designed to meet the customer needs in the Far East including China and Japan,  not to mention the American innovations added in more recent centuries, it is not difficult to imagine assembling a museum-like collection of antique grandfather clocks.

If one has the space and resources to afford it, we view this as a healthy habit which should be treasured by oneself and shared with others, whether they be horological fanatics or not.  Tallcase and longcase clocks, also known as floor clocks, are each a special work of art.

Having said that, it is worth noting that there are some major grandfather clock museums around the world, and depending upon one’s estate planning approach, donating one or all antique clocks to a worthy institution is certainly something to be considered seriously.  The same holds true for mantle clocks and wall clocks.

Sadly, clocks made in the last 100 years are not in most all cases – there are always exceptions to almost any rule – would not be of interest to a timepiece museum.  We would also suggesting thinking about donations to local historical societies, municipal libraries, universities and colleges, and other worthy organizations.

Now if an individual had 100 grandfather clocks where it was hard for them to explain or for you to understand what the differences are between the many clocks, then, my friends, there may in fact be a more serious hoarding-type problem.  We should point out that we are not professional psychiatrists or psychologists.  Having said all that, if you are one of these people and all still convinced you need more grandfather, wall or mantel clocks, please be sure to make us your one stop shop for all your grandfather clock, wall clock, atomic clock, and mantel clock needs.

We are here to help, not to diagnose!

Wall Clocks Howard Miller

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Mechanical and quartz wall clocks, whether made by Howard Miller Clocks or some of the many other wall clock manufacturers out there, like Hermle Clocks, Ridgeway Clock company, Bulova Clocks, Seth Thomas or others, offer many choice of wall clock style, functionality, chime whether mechanical or quarts or perhaps simply silent, material types, and decor choices, whether the wall clock is for the home or office interior decorating environment.

Some of the key feature choices one needs to consider when purchasing a wall clock, and most likely trying to find wall clocks on sale and wall clock discounts include:

1. Importance of maker or manufacturer.  One pays a premium for a wall clock made by Howard Miller or Hermle or Ridgeway Clock.

2. Type and quality of movement. The most common distinction is to choose between a mechanical movement, with or without chimes, and a quartz or battery operated wall clock movement.  It is critical to note that quality levels can vary tremendously between both mechanical wall clock movements and quartz wall clock movements.   One need to be sure that the movement is made by a quality wall clock movement manufacturer, and can make the difference between buying an excellent quality wall clock and a piece of, well, junk.

3. Case material – this can go either way, and should be guided by both personal preference in design and styling, but as or more important, actual knowledge of what the wall clock case or mantle clock is actually made of compared to what it simply looks like.  Many plastic resin cases painted black, or having a wood tone, can be mistaken for something they are not.  Do your homework before buying your wall clock!  And beware of some of the truly cheaply made clocks, which in some cases may even require assembly, not to mention the fact that they will not likely survive the warranty period, if one can even still locate the company as described on the materials that come with the clocks.   There are a lot of fly-by-night clock makers out there, so buyers should beware, and we recommend paying extra for a wall clock brand that you know you can trust and rely upon.  Interestingly, some of the most cheaply made mantle clocks and wall clocks out there will sometimes carry a lifetime warranty.  What these companies are banking on, if they are still around when there is a problem, is that one won’t want another of the same poorly made wall clocks or mantle clocks.  We have seen this happen way too many times, especially for promotional wall clocks and ASI-type advertising or promotion mantel clocks.

4. Movement time accuracy.  If accuracy in a wall clock is paramount, the natural choice would be atomic wall clocks, also known as radio controlled wall clocks.  These clocks actually pick up the signal from the US Atomic Clock in Fort Collins, Colorado, and are accurate, theoretically at least to a billionth of a second.  A big added advantage of atomic clocks, both atomic wall clocks and atomic mantel clocks and watches, is that they adjust for Daylights Savings Time themselves.  This can be especially appealing to Facilities management departments and purchasing groups at hospitals, universities, large corporations, government offices and organizations generally, as a big boost to both productivity and time efficiency.

5. Additional functions and features — if bells and whistles like auto-night shutoff feature, choices of chimes, volume control, working moondial, large dials — known as Wall Gallery Clocks when over 15 inches in diameter, moving pendulum, tubular chimes, internal water fountain and other wall clocks features that you may never have even contemplated, one needs to do their homework to make sure they get the wall clock they want the first time, and not have to deal with the hassle and frustration of returning a wall clock or exchanging it for a new wall clock.  Doing ones homework makes a big difference in ultimate satisfaction with your wall clock choice and selection and savings.

6. Chimes.  There is the mechanical vs. quartz chime distinction, with mechanical wall clocks offering by far the best sound quality, when comparing high quality movements of each wall clock type.  Mechanical wall clocks are the most expensive, but these wall clocks also have the most longevity, are the most collectible, and are also most true to being reproductions of antique wall clocks and vintage wall clocks.  Quartz driven chiming wall clocks are generally less expensive almost always, when comparing comparable wall clocks, and frequently have features including no need to wind as they are battery operated, an auto night shut-off option, volume control, and perhaps a choice of chimes which includes the Ave Maria or Ode to Joy Chimes, which are popular on many of the Howard Miller Quartz Chiming Wall Clocks.  The relative disadvantages of a quartz vs. mechanical wall clock include a likely shorter lifespan for the wall clock movement, sound quality on the wall clock that is not as good as a mechanical clock, as one is listening to a recording of a chime vs. an actual mechanical chiming wall clock, frequently but certainly not always a less well made case, less collectible as collectors tend to vastly prefer mechanical wall clocks.

These are all points to consider while undoubtedly also trying to get the best wall clocks discounts and to find the best wall clocks on sale.

Custom Wall Clocks

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

One request we at 1-800-4CLOCKS.com get regularly is to customize wall clocks, usually either for office clocks for corporations, for chains of retail stores, especially food outlets, and for uses in hospitals, universities and other large organizations.

Purchasing managers and building construction coordinators, franchise managers, not to mention building developers and construction managers, are frequently our initial points of contact.

Some of the most common types of customization include corporate logos or company logos or store or chain logos imprinted on  the dial of the clock.  Other requests include adding what is known as military time, with hour markers from the 13th hour to the 24th hour of the dial, generally just inside the dial of the clock.  Customized brass plaques are another frequent request for customization.  Many want custom atomic clocks, hoping to get logos on customized atomic clocks or radio controlled clocks.  Entire wall clock dials can easily be customized.  Office clocks are always popular for customization. We always work with customers, whether they are looking for custom wall clocks, customized grandfather clocks, custom mantle clocks or mantel clock customization.

While custom clocks are generally used internally by the organizations that order them, customization for promotional products, corporate gift awards, incentive awards, retirement gifts and as gifts to recognize excellence in corporations, hospitals, universities, government organizations, NGOs, and corporate gifts among many others.

Sometimes wall clocks are used as promotions.  1-800-4CLCOKS has historically been a member of ASI.  Promotions can be used not only for wall clocks, but also picture frames, with or without clocks, calculators with clocks, paperweights with clocks, alarm clocks with customization, desk accessories and wall placques.  Some customers even start off looking for a customized wall clock, only to end up with a customized wristwatch by Bulova or a custom watch or wristwatch by Accutron, for whom we are also authorized dealers.

Grandfather clocks can also be customized for one or more clocks.  Floor clocks can also be personalized.  Grandmother clocks too.  The grandfather clock customization can take any of a variety of forms, and the possibilities are dependent upon each clock and request.

One point worth noting about custom orders, is that for customization that involves logos or multiple colors, as opposed to putting plaques on mantel clocks for example, the cost per unit goes down significantly when more than a certain minimum order quantity is met.  While we have no minimum order quantities, please keep that in mind when requesting quotes for any specific customization requests, whether for wall clocks, grandfather clocks, or wristwatches.

Always feel free to call us at 1-800-4CLOCKS, or 1-800-425-5257, to discuss any or all of your customized clock needs.

Grandfather Clocks Come and Go

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

As this blog post is being written, the evolution and revolution in grandfather clock makers and grandfather clocks brands continues.  We are selling out the very last of our Bulova Grandfather Clocks.  Bulova entered the great grandfather clock market with a bang when they took over and introduced the grandmother and grandfather clock designs that had been made for many years by the Sligh Grandfather Clock Company, which was and still is actually Sligh Furniture.  Bulova made the same designs, with the same German mechanical chiming grandfather clock movements, and put together in the same location by the very same people in Canada that had previously worked with Sligh grandfather clocks.

For whatever its reasons, Bulova, the great wristwatch and clock company, has decided to stick to its knitting with Bulova, Accutron and other wrist-watches, and make the mantel clocks and wall clocks and atomic clocks, both mechanical and quartz driven, dor which they have been so well known for so many years.

With Bulova grandfather clocks having exited the marketplace, and Seth Thomas Grandfather Clocks having been out of the picture for quite some time, the number of makers of truly high-end grandfather clocks is shrinking.  Of the clock brands we carry, that leaves Ridgeway Grandfather Clocks and Howard Miller Floor Clocks and Hermle Grandfather Clocks, plus the special order Kieninger Grandfather Clocks.  there have been many entrants in the lower end of the grandfather clock marketplace, and to that, we suggest shoppers look at these brands with extreme caution and eyes wide open.

There are some other high-end grandfather clock makers out there whom we have not been carrying that may be worth another look with Bulova having  effectively exited the grandfather clock marketplace.  The small number of other makers out there that we are thinking about tend to produce grandfather clocks and grandmother clocks, not to mention mantel clocks and wall clocks, in very small numbers and at price points that are quite high, but with a quality that may well be worth it to value conscious savvy consumers of grandfather clocks.

We also hear rumors of new formidable entrants, especially in the grandfather clock marketplace, and we hope it is true.

Stay tuned for further developments, and call us anytime you are in the market for a new grandfather clock.

Howard Miller Furniture

Monday, November 15th, 2010

Howard Miller, long-time leader and long-time maker of the high-end grandfather clocks industry, has aggressively entered several new markets.  For many decades, Howard Miller has been known as a high-quality leader in the premium quality grandfather clock marketplace, as well as wall clocks, mantel clocks, desk clocks and shelf clocks, curio floor clocks, atomic clocks, mantle clocks, and much more.

Howard Miller, who as most regular readers of this Blog would know was the son of Herman Miller, the world reknown maker of primarily very high-end office furniture and furnishings, left Herman Miller over 70 years ago to start up his own company whose sole focus would be clocks, and clocks as home furnishings.  Before leaving Herman Miller, Howard Miller makde many different clocks nearing the Herman Miller logo.

In much more recent years, Howard Miller started entering the furniture market, with more of a focus of what generally might be considered more home furnishings, including not only curio grandfather clocks, but also standalone curio cabinets, and much more recently wine and bar furnishings, including tables and stools and storage units.  Even more recently, just within the last couple of years, Howard Miller has entered the Home Furnishings market in a big way, including personal storage units, as well as bedroom furniture and living room furnishings.  It is a bold move by a Company whose core business has been in grandfather clocks, wall clocks and mantel clocks.

Yet Howard Miller does have a core competency in manufacturing, including in the USA, and their reputation for quality woodwork and furniture, recognizing that grandfather clocks are a form of office or living room furniture, and it is not a far stretch to have Howard Miller be well received for home furniture throughout North America and beyond.

Furniture is also an extremely competitive marketplace, and in the throes of the current economy and sluggish, putting it kindly, housing market, it must be a difficult time for even the most entrenched suppliers in this home furniture space.  Howard Miller has chosen wisely by aligning the Company with Ty Pennington and his Extreme Makeover types of designs and sensibilities – it is a great selling point.

1-800-4CLOCKS.com has started carrying just parts of the Howard Miller Furniture line (we are at our core a clocks store after all), including Howard Miller Curios, Howard Miller Wine and Bar Furnishings,  and Entertainment and Storage Cabinets.  Please take a look at these sections on our website, and find a location near you where you can see them in person.

Take a look below at some of the Howard Miller non-clock and non-grandfather clocks items that are new from Howard Miller:

OK, now we are ready to hear from the most creative and loyal Howard Miller Clocks customers out there.  Please let us know your ideas form a multi-use Howard Miller grandfather clock or grandmother clocks, Personal Storage Unit, Wine and Bar Furnishings, and Entertainment Storage cabinetry all-in-one.  Incorporating a solid wood bed also made by Howard Miller.  Throw in a few more ingredients and you may be able to build something where someone will either never have to or want to leave that fully furnished space again, ever.

Clocks Keep Us on Time If

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Well another Daylight Savings Time season has come and gone this past weekend, and hopefully most of us have adjusted our grandfather clocks, wall clocks, mantel clocks, wristwatches, microwave ovens and DVR and VCRs and Cable boxes etc.  The list goes on and on.   This year, apparently, iPhone users who had not been keeping up with the news that there was a bug this year with the iPhone’s alarm clock software may have been an hour late today, or was it an hour early.  Anyway …..

In case anyone has missed it, this past Saturday night to Sunday morning, for those geographical areas that observe Daylight Savings Time, clocks were moved back one hour as we transitioned to Standard Time.  We got, for those who chose to make use of the extra time that way, one more of hour sleep, or at least one more hour to our day.  And Sunday and Monday night, to no great surprise, daylight ended sooner and nighttime descended upon us an hour earlier.

In the Spring, we move and moved clocks forward one hour, and the in the Fall, we turn clocks back an hour.  Officially, the time change takes place at 2am Daylight Saving Time, with clocks going back one hour to 1am Standard Time..

Every so often, Congress has changed the timing for when Daylight Savings time starts and when Standard Time begins.  The original idea behind Daylight Savings Time was both to increase energy efficiency and increase school safety for children going outdoors in the early morning.  The idea of having an extra hour on sunshine during the Summer months was another impetus behind the plan.

Not all States have come on board with Daylight Savings.  Hawaii and Arizona are 2 States that are on Standard time all throughout the year.  States and countries can and do also come up with their own schedules as to when Standard Time begins and ends.

Our biological clock, or some might say biorhythms, is another matter.  While this blogger personally finds the Spring switch to Daylight Savings time and the loss of an hour more difficult to adjust to that Fall’s switch to Standard Time and an hour extra in the day, both wreak some havoc on my body’s internal clock.  It’s a feeling somewhat akin to flying to geographic destainations in other time zones and attempting to adjust one’s internal clock.

Also, as a clock store, as you can imagine, we have many antique grandfather clocks, mantle clocks and wall clocks to adjust the time on with the change to Standard Time.  Then there are the reporters who are4 always interested in covering a ck store attempting to adjust all of its clocks at midnight, even though that’s not when the time change takes place, nor is there a reason to adjust them all at once.  But it makes for good viewership and ratings, and sometimes good publicity for our Stores.

Then there are the Monday and Tuesday phone calls, with everything from basic help requests to how to change time, to those about what to do with their atomic wall clocks that have yet to adjust themselves, to the inevitable few who have broken their clocks when they fell when they were taking them off the wall.

We never close on the Monday after the change in Daylight Savings Time or the change to Standard Time.  For some reason, grandfather clocks shoppers seem to come out in full force looking for grandfather clock discounts and sales on wall clocks and mantel clocks.  Guess time was on their minds, and they had an extra hour on their hands.

Hospital Healthcare Wall Clocks

Monday, October 4th, 2010

Hospitals and healthcare service institutions, including those providing in-patient and outpatient care, rely heavily on accurate timekeeping capabilities in many parts of not only hospital purchasing management, but also in the actual delivery of healthcare on a day-to-day basis.

Having accurate and consistent timekeeping capability is critical for many elements of the operations of a hospital, health service facility, including teaching hospitals and universities.  Not only knowing the accurate time, but also being able to record it manually, and to have it incorporated into systems which may include time stamps as a part of the test or procedure delivery.

Atomic wall clocks in hospitals are one growing phenomenon that we have seen take hold.  Many hospitals or universities or teaching hospitals, not to mention organizations of all types and sizes, will frequent purchase a small number of atomic wall clocks, with the Howard Miller Murrow Atomic Wall Clock being one of the most popular

Howard Miller Murrow Atomic Wall Clock Model 625259 625-259Popular Hospital Atomic Wall Clock by Howard Miller Clocks 625-259 625259

We also see uses by hospitals in hospital crash carts which emergency responder crash cart teams rush to a scene where an important medical event may be taking place.  One of many important components is documenting exactly what event s are happening when, an an atomic clock or radio controlled wireless clocks can be the ideal solution for many medical institutions. We have seen atomic clocks used successfully in crash carts in major hospital.  Synchronized wireless clocks which deliver accurate times across many locations can be implemented in a number of ways, and it has been an honor and a privilege to work with hospitals to make the best custom solution available to them and their specific needs.  Always feel free to call us at 1-800-4CLOCKS (1-800-425-6257) to discuss your organizations individual needs.

One atomic wall clocks and basic wall clock need which seems to have increased recently is to address the reality that “anything that is not nailed down may have the tendency to “walk away”.  So adding a feature, which may or may not be the prettiest addition to the hospital decor, to help secure the wall clocks and other clocks, is an area we have just very recently moved in to, and we will soon be providing this hospital health care facility solutions on our website to help prevent thefts of clocks from hospitals and other healthcare facilities and institutions including universities.

Another hospital clock favorite is the Howard Miller Accuwave II Atomic Wall Clock or Radio Controlled Wireless Clock Model  625-205 625205.

Wall Clocks Large

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Large Wall Clocks, sometimes known also as Oversize Wall Clocks or Gallery Wall Clocks, are those we define as being 15 inches or larger in diameter.  Sometimes, much larger, including up to 3 feet for large wall clocks people may have in their homes. Really large wall clocks, which can be installed outdoors on buildings, including office building and hospitals and churches, just to name a few, are known as Tower Clocks, and they can be even larger, such as 5 or more feet in diameter.

Gallery wall clocks or oversize wall clocks, for some reason also referred to as wall clocks large, are offered by many of the manufacturers for whom we are Authorized Dealers, including Howard Miller Clocks, LaCrosse Clocks, Infinity Instruments Clocks, and many more.  Some of these large wall clocks are weather resistant and can be used outdoors.  See individual wall clocks large product pages for descriptions about individual clocks.  Many different styles of wall clock are there to choose from, and in all price ranges.

Atomic Wall Clocks are worth a special consideration in that they can be spectacularly accurate in addition to being large.  Some of the best makers of atomic wall clocks include Howard Miller atomic wall clocks, Lacrosse atomic wall clocks, and Infinity atomic wall clocks.  They can be either analog wall clocks or digital wall clocks.  And being atomic clocks, one does not have to worry about changing the time of the wall clock during daylight savings time, as it is done automatically.  the same holds true for the lack of need to adjust the clocks for either accuracy individually or uniformity or one has many of these clocks in the same facility.  Facility Managers and Procurement Mangers and coordinators and purchasing agents take special note!

Many are contemporary gallery wall clocks, others are more traditional oversize wall clocks, and yet many other wall clocks large are hard to classify by interior decorators and home decor experts as being of one clocks decor office or home or another.  It is worth noting that large wall clocks can and are used in many office or large organizational settings, including universities and colleges, stores and retailers, schools, hospitals, government offices and others just to name a few.

To take a look at the selection of new oversize wall clocks large that we offer at 1-800-4clocks.com, you can click on the link below to see many by Howard Miller Clocks, which has probably the best selection:

It is definitely also worth taking a look at the Oversize Gallery Large Wall Clocks by the other makers we carry, including Infinity Clocks, Ridgeway Wall Clocks, Hermle Clocks, LaCrosse Oversize Wall Clocks and other wall clock makers.
