This time topic may sound absurd on the face of it, but judging from the countless times we have been contacted by couples getting a divorce, and either wanting to sell their clock or get an appraisal, it is a topic much more common than one might imagine.  Grandfather clocks, which may have been handed down through generations, frequently have individuals with particularly noteworthy and heartfelt attachment.

On several occasions, we have heard individuals say things to the effect that “I would rather use my grandfather clock for firewood”, before letting it go at that price, or before accepting a valuation lower than they believe it should be.  While not quite the custodial battles for children, it is a sociological phenomenon worthy of not.

Interestingly, with newer grandfather clocks by makers such as Howard Miller Clocks, Bulova Grandfather Clocks, Hermle Floor Clocks, Ridgeway, Kieninger and more, people can have the feel of the old and have it new.
