Longtime Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback-turned backup Tony Romo will walk away from the game instead of trying to land on another team, the Cowboys announced Tuesday. The four-time Pro Bowler played in only five games over the last two seasons after enduring a series of back, rib, collarbone, and disc injuries, ultimately fracturing his L1 vertebra during the 2016 preseason. Rookie Dak Prescott went on to start 16 games while earning a Pro Bowl nod and Rookie of the Year honors.
