BEIRUT—Lebanese authorities said they uncovered a painting thought to be a long-lost work by Salvador Dalí and arrested the people planning to sell the picture to a dealer in France.

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces said they seized the painting on Oct. 13, and arrested four individuals in connection with the alleged plot. The Spanish surrealist’s work, titled “Portrait of Mrs. Reeves,” could be worth millions of dollars, the police said.
