Stolen Ancient Statue Headed Back to Lebanon

A 2,400-year-old statue of a bull’s head, which was plundered in Lebanon, crisscrossed three continents and ended up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is heading home following a legal battle over its ownership.

This week, the New York State Supreme Court authorized the repatriation of the artifact after Colorado-based collectors Lynda and William Beierwaltes withdrew their claim to it, according to court documents.
