U.S. Figure Skating Announces Olympic Women's Singles Team

SAN JOSE, Calif.—The U.S. will send newly crowned national champion Bradie Tennell, 2010 Olympian Mirai Nagasu and last year’s top-ranked U.S. skater, Karen Chen, to the Olympic Games, officials said Saturday, bumping longtime star Ashley Wagner in another messy team selection for U.S. figure skating.

The relatively untested 19-year-old Tennell scrambled months of expectations by seizing the national title on Friday night with two spotless performances including a free program to music from “Cinderella.”
